Biography

Prof. Pankaj Goyal is Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, School of Life Sciences, Central University of Rajasthan. His research program is centered on cell signaling and molecular medicine, with emphasis on understanding poorly characterized signaling proteins and their roles in human disease.

His laboratory has a long-standing research program on the STK35/STK35L1 family of protein kinases, extending from the molecular characterization of STK35L1 to studies of nuclear actin, cell-cycle regulation, endothelial-cell migration, host–pathogen interactions, structural regulation, and cancer biology. Current work also includes PDIK1L and EGFR/HER2-associated signaling in breast cancer, cofilin biology and protein aggregation, PAI-1 signaling, and mechanistic questions in molecular medicine.

Prof. Goyal has more than two decades of research experience in molecular medicine. Before joining the Central University of Rajasthan, he worked at the University of Greifswald, Germany, as Group Leader and Senior Postdoctoral Fellow, and at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany, as a FöFoLe Junior Project Leader and Postdoctoral Fellow. He received his Ph.D. in Human Biology from the University of Munich in 2005 with summa cum laude distinction.

His academic activities include postgraduate and doctoral teaching, research supervision, funded research projects, scientific editing, and interdisciplinary collaborations in molecular and translational medicine.
